Back at home, I decided to tweak my lightsettings for this area a bit to match with the new textures. Especially at night I wanted it to be more ominous. So here it goes...
I am nearly finished with this area. This was my first 4x4 Area. I think I got used to it quit good. And this area was a good testing ground for the upcoming area I am going to start. It has the same setting and uses the same textures. But it will be a 32x32 area. A river valley in the mountains. Sadly, we have no mountains where I live in germany :/ So I have to abuse google image search instead. But we have a lot rivers. And that is where I´m going now... getting some fresh air and more free textures :)
Have a nice sunday !

The screen shots are beautiful as usual :) I just love the night time shot. So atmospheric!
Liso
I really like the atmosphere on both shots, but if you don't mind a little criticism.
Mostly in the first shot, it's not as noticeable at night, but I think you may need to touch up on the grass some in the lower left corner. It really strikes me as fake and kind of ruins the entire scene.
I realize this is 2D grass we're talking about here :)
PS: How's the logo coming along? ;) (great time to bring something like this up, eh? Right after you've criticized someone's stuff. Great way of getting something you want, right?)
@Michele: I´m glad I don´t had to go to the forrests at night to get some inspirations for that night setting :)
@Josh, you are right about that grass. Acutally it´s the wrong grass for the texture it´s "growing" on. I used some tropical grass for testing purposes but I´m currently reworking it to match the right colors and the forrest setting.
Well, the logo is changing from time to time :) I have just played around with the font, but I´m really not happy with the colors, yet. I´m going to give it another try the next days !
this is truly beautiful stuff. I actually really like the day time scene and the path texturing is nicely done
Wow, you live near the woods? No wonder your forest areas look so realistic. As for me, I have to settle for Google Image for my visual references.
So nice, Ayrin.
You're a true master of design - this forest path looks like a Real picture!
Ok Ayrin. you have shown us what you can do. The new question is. Where you been!!!? :P :D
Heya Liso,
Yeah, I know ... I think under a big pile of work would be the best answer to you question. And I still am. But it´s worth it.
I have posted a topic over at bouncy rock today. So, I think I see you over there :)
